Room

Held captive for years in an
enclosed space, a woman and her young son finally gain their freedom, allowing
the boy to experience the outside world for the first time. Told entirely in
the language of the energetic, pragmatic five-year-old Jack, Room is
a celebration of resilience and the limitless bond between parent and child, a
brilliantly executed novel about what it means to journey from one world to
another. The 2015 screen adaptation garnered many rewards including the 2016
Best Actress Oscar which went to Brie Larson for her role as the mother.
